The School of Civil Engineering (PPKA), Universiti Sains Malaysia was established in 1989. Since its establishment, PPKA has organized numerous seminars, short courses and conferences. These activities amongst others have contributed towards the advancement of knowledge, innovative application of technology for solving civil engineering problems and exchange of ideas amongst various stakeholders of the field of civil engineering. PPKA has successfully organized five national conferences which were known as AWAM'99, AWAM'01, AWAM'04, AWAM'07 and AWAM'09. In 2012, PPKA successfully organized the first international conference called AWAM International Conference on Civil Engineering (AICCE'12) which was held together with Geohazard Information Zonation (GIZ'12). In 2015, the second AWAM International Conference on Civil Engineering (eco-AICCE'15) will be organized. This latest edition to the series of conferences organized by PPKA will be co-hosted by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia. The conference will be held in conjunction with International Construction Week (ICW) 2015 organized by CIDB Malaysia.
