• The Situation: Most conferences held in April 2026 officially close submissions around January 20-30.

• The Strategy: Do not submit an Abstract. At this late stage, you must submit the Full Paper immediately to speed up the review process.

• Grace Period: If a website says "December 31, 2025" deadline, email the editor immediately. They often allow a "Grace Period" until mid-January.

These IEEE/SPIE conferences will take place in April 2026. This is likely the absolute last extension.

3. The "Emergency" Option: Open Access Journals

If you cannot wait for a conference to be held in April, Open Access (OA) journals review and publish as they go.

• Sustainability (MDPI)

  • Deadline: None (Submit Today).

  • Speed: You could have an acceptance letter by early February.

  • Cost: High (~2400 CHF).

• IEEE Access

  • Deadline: None.

  • Speed: Decisions usually in 4-6 weeks.

  • Note: Requires a sound engineering/technical component.

January Submission Checklist

1. Check the Date: Ensure the conference is actually in 2026. Some scam sites recycle old "2025" pages.

2. Email First: If the website says "Deadline: Dec 30, 2025," send an email: "Dear Secretary, is the submission system still open for a late entry?" The answer is almost always "Yes, until Jan 15."
