Safety Guide: How to Verify EI Indexing?

The Civil Engineering field has many predatory conferences. Before you pay, verify these three things:

  1. Publisher Check:

    • Safe: Springer (LNCE series), ASCE Proceedings, IOP (MSE series - check recent coverage).

    • Risky: "International Journal of Civil Engineering Research" (if not found in Scopus).

  2. History Check:

    • Go to Scopus or Engineering Village. Search for the conference name (e.g., "ICOCE"). Did the 2024 or 2025 proceedings get indexed? If yes, it is safe. If the last index was 2019, do not submit.

  3. Scope Check:

    • Avoid conferences that combine too many unrelated topics (e.g., "Civil Engineering + Literature + Economy"). Scopus often rejects these for being "Out of Scope." Stick to focused engineering events.

Recommendation: For a guaranteed output in 2026, CEAC 2026 (Hong Kong) and ICCEMS 2026 (Malaysia) are the strongest candidates with stable Springer indexing history.
